Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Falcon in Uppingham, and it was a delightful experience that catered perfectly to my culinary interests. The hotel is situated in a charming Grade II listed building, exuding a sense of history that is hard to resist. The highlight of my stay was the innovative dining at their brasserie-style restaurant. I indulged in a delectable smoked salmon salad, which was fresh and beautifully presented. The fish pie that followed had a rich concentration of flavors, with generous portions of vegetables that pleasantly complemented the dish. My husband opted for the steak and ale pie, and even though I'm more inclined towards seafood, I found myself stealing bites from his plate! The staff were attentive without being intrusive, creating a warm, friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was equally impressive, featuring a wide range of options cooked fresh to order, satisfying both our cravings and our taste buds. On our final morning, we savored our last coffee by the fire, engaging in conversations with locals that added to the overall experience. I would certainly recommend the Falcon to anyone looking to explore Uppingham, especially for those who appreciate good food in a welcoming setting.
